Kefalonia is the third largest island in Greece, located in the Adriatic between Italy and Greece. We are in the west. Kefalonia is a cosmopolitan location, where English is widely spoken, as well as being the home to many British and German ex-pats.It is served by an international airport with flights to Athens and Europe daily
We live and work at the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture. This is a new structure that has clean and well-maintained facilities for studios, lectures, dorm space and dining. Room and board is included in the cost. Dinner is communal, with other students, faculty and visitors. Local food is prepared as traditional Greek cooking, while people with special requests are accommodated. Local activities are organized as part of the stay including events in Argostoli, the main city, and other sites on the island. Regular studio times are kept with generous time allowed for site visits and engagement with stakeholders, plus "downtime" to explore the island. Transportation is also included in our budget.
